Francisco Rebajes

Francisco Rebajes was a pioneering jewelry designer who was born in the Dominican Republic in 1907 and immigrated to the United States in the 1920s. He is best known for his innovative use of non-precious metals, such as copper and aluminum, to create stylish and affordable jewelry for women.
Rebajes' designs were inspired by a variety of sources, including the art and architecture of his native Dominican Republic, as well as the modernist movements in art and design that were popular in the mid-20th century. His jewelry pieces often featured abstract and geometric shapes, as well as fluid and organic forms.
Rebajes' use of non-precious metals allowed him to create jewelry that was both stylish and affordable, making it accessible to a wide range of women. His designs were also lightweight and comfortable to wear, making them popular for everyday wear.
