9K Antique Lover’s Knot Brooch with Hand-carved Snake’s Head

I found this late-Georgian/early-Victorian period Lover’s Knot brooch awhile back, and its capped hollow end just felt unfinished to me. I reached out to my talented friend and fellow jeweler, Allie Keast, from whom I’ve purchased other of her carved works of art, asking if she would collaborate to update this piece with a snake head with two beady little carnelian eyes. Her articulation of the head is so lifelike and respectful - just wonderfully executed.
