Red Pietersite Earrings with Detachable Vintage Wood and Paper Fans

This collection is all about trying new things and letting go of any notions of what can and cannot be considered fine jewelry.

This pair showcases a modular setting style that I designed many years ago, with hidden 14K yellow gold hooks allowing for the delicate vintage wood and gold paper fans to be removed. The fans have a brass rivet that I didn’t replace, along with a new loop of 14K yellow gold. These should obviously not get wet, and when worn, are to be worn with care, as their material makes them fragile. And as you can see, one fan opens more than the other, and is more gold.

The red Pietersite is a rare form, and look like fire. They’re truly wild.
