Cactus Earrings

As an artist, it’s important to practice, to play, and to create, without the worry or care of a sale. I’ve been tinkering these for a little over a week, and just finally pinned all of the opals into place.

I hadn’t made an honest-to-God hinge in a dog’s age, and haven’t worked in textured metal in awhile. It had also been awhile since I’d done keum boo, and used beads in this way.

An absolute joy to make, and if they sit here for the rest of the year, that’s just fine with me. It was worth it to have this release of concern, and to just mess around. And the movement of these is delightful.
