Hypersthene Necklace

What can I say about this exquisite, rare gem also known as ‘velvet labradorite’. It’s similar to labradorite, but has more similarities with lepidolite and mica.

This piece has a color play of apple green, deep coppery orange, and even some reddish tones on a black ground with swatches of white quartz.

I’ve fused silver dust to the frame on this version instead of gold so that the gem doesn’t have any competing sparkle. 14K yellow gold integrated wire bail.

18” total length on cable chain with hand-forged hook closure. Pendant measures 1 7/8” x 2 1/8”.
