4.5 Ct. Ethiopian Opal Ring in 14K and 22K

This collection is all about trying new things and letting go of any notions of what can and cannot be considered fine jewelry.

This ring is the first all-gold ring I’ve made in a long time, and I did so to combat the idea that I only make jewelry that I think will sell. This ring is above my normal price threshold, AND it’s a ring, but I made it anyway because I love making, and miss working in karat gold.

4.5 ct. Ethiopian opal set in a 22K yellow gold bezel, with a 14K yellow gold heavy gauge frame. The ring shank is 2.5mm wide and 1.3mm height. All of the gold was milled from scrap in my Walla Walla studio, and contains a bit of gold from my grandfather’s wristwatch.

Size 6.25, sizeable up for a fee, down at no charge.
